Imogen Reddaway
Editor of this site.
Imogen Reddaway is the pen name of the writer and editor responsible for this site. Everything published here is written or edited under that name.
This is a pen name, not a claimed expert. No professional qualification is claimed on this site and none should be inferred. There is no physician, dietitian or research scientist behind the byline. What there is: a person who reads primary literature closely, cites it precisely, and grades it honestly, including when the honest grade is unflattering.
How pages here get written
Each claim is traced to primary literature and cited by its PubMed or PMC identifier, and those identifiers are verified to resolve. The grade a claim receives comes from the best available evidence rather than the most recent or the most favorable, and the reasoning behind it is set out on the page rather than asserted.
Where a trial reported a null result, that gets the same treatment a positive result would. Where no adequate trial exists, the page says so instead of substituting laboratory work for clinical evidence.
Corrections
Corrections are made on the page with the modified date updated. A grade that moves because the evidence moved is the system working. More on method on the about page.
